Wow! Already into the last week of July, and what a fun ride we’re having so far! Even more of that, planned for this week’s market – yahoo!
(Our feature pic is of Holly, of Nature’s Way Organics, holding one of her amazing “Globe Basil” plants – only $4 each!)
Once again, get ready to lighten (or bulk up) your closets, as our clothing swap, (and “reuse” workshop), happens this week. Thursday (July 25th), from 3:30-6:30pm. And a reminder that all are welcome, and all is free – bringing clothing is not a requirement.
Gorgeous Pink Oyster mushrooms from Noki Farms.
Vendor News..
First and foremost, get ready to welcome back Country Meadows to the market! Angelos (pictured), will finally return this week, with his cold-pressed olive oil, feta cheese, olives, and more! 🤸🏿♂️
Aside from this incredible bounty (pictured) from Nith Valley Organics, they’ll also have FRESH CHICKEN this Thursday! So many reasons to try to come to every market.
Jiggy Popz is also back at the market this week – as are Planticia Foods and Knuckle Down Farm!
Our bi-weekly returning vendors this week: TC Tibetan Momos, House of Tigernut, and First Fish. Green Florin will also be there this week. Scroll for the full vendor list, or click here.
Estelle’s Caribbean Cuisine now has macaroni and cheese – Caribbean-style! This is a great side dish, alongside her incredible jerk chicken – or even just on its own. Yum!
Can You Help Out?
The folks at Clay and Paper Theatre are asking for “backpack frames”. Here are the specifics from David Anderson:
“Hello Dufferin Grove friends and neighbours. As you know, Clay and Paper Theatre builds a lot of giant puppets, especially for Night of Dread – (this year will be its 25th anniversary!) We need backpack frames for our giant puppets and wonder if anyone would be willing to donate some.
We would be happy to collect it from your residence, or you could bring to the Field House from 9:30-5:30 this week from Wednesday to Saturday. Thanks in advance.”

Random Pet Pics..
Perhaps, like longtime market-goer, Helen, you also have a mischievous pet at home. One that barely lets you unpack your groceries, before “diving in”? Well Helen’s ginger cat Bobby, clearly loves the egg cartons from Nith Valley Organics – and maybe even the eggs too!
Helen and I have been exchanging “pet tales” for years, and finally she sent me some “proof”! She titled this one, “demon cat thrashing Nathan’s egg carton.” Thanks Helen – Bobby’s adorable! 💜
This tortoiseshell cat is actually my little one, “Tina”. And as you can see, she just loves apples. Loveable, she is – but clearly not a typical feline. Tina’s even ransacked my compost bin once or twice, knowing that an apple core was in there – what a character!
I also shared this pic with Mimi (of Reyes Farms), as Tina’s actually eating one of their golden gala apples here. Mimi was quite flattered. Yup – that’s definitely the cat of a farmers’ market manager.
Highlights From Last Week..
Hooray for “Divine Interventions”! Depending on what time you attended the market, you may have gotten to enjoy this incredible (“travelling”) dance performance, put on by Corpus Dance Projects. Their performance took place from 4:30 to 5pm – and what a show it was! The entire market space was completely “transformed” for about 30 minutes – such a treat. But if you unfortunately missed it, good news! They’re back at the market on August 15th. And if that’s too long of a wait for you, they’re also at the Summerworks theatre festival on August 7th.
A big thank you once again, to the amazing folks at Repair Cafe – what a team!
Welcome back to Crepe de la Crepe! Ibraheem had a great first (of the season) market last week! He’s back on August 1st.
Thanks so much for reading, and see you at the market.
